Maintenance dose

The stable, ongoing dose taken once titration is complete, intended to sustain treatment effects long-term.

The maintenance dose is the dose a patient settles at after the titration period ends — the level intended to be taken consistently for ongoing treatment, whether for blood sugar control or continued weight management. It may still be adjusted later based on side effects, effectiveness, or clinical guidance. See what "maintenance dose" actually means.

The Wegovy label, for example, titrates the injection every 4 weeks to a usual maintenance dose of 2.4 mg once weekly (Wegovy prescribing information (external link)).
